Team Spotlight: Introducing Petra Lovrencic

This month we are delighted to continue with our team spotlight series. This is where we interview members of our team and ask them to share a little more about themselves and their role at Rocksteady Finance.

Next up is an interview with Petra Lovrencic, our Finance Assistant. Petra has also relatively recently joined the team, here is what she had to say:

1. How long have you worked at Rocksteady Finance?

I started working with Aggie and the Rocksteady Finance team, in July 2025, so just under a year.

2. What do you do day-to-day for Rocksteady’s clients (Tell us about your role)?

My role at Rocksteady Finance is an admin support role. I spend a lot of time managing client in boxes, I work as part of the debtor’s team and I complete ad hoc admin projects for Aggie. A big part of my role is chasing outstanding invoices, reconciling payments and keeping our clients updated.

3. What does good look like and how do you know when you have done a good job in your role?

The most obvious way I know I am doing a good job is when a client directly provides me with positive feedback. Aside from this it would be when I don’t have any invoices to chase. I try to keep our clients updated, weekly on how things are progressing and for me it is good when they respond positively.  We recently had a client that had an outstanding invoice for some time and I have FINALLY got it settled for them. That was very satisfying. It was a relief not to have to call the debt collection agency.

4. What do agency founders most misunderstand about what you do?

My role in the finance team is fairly clear so there are not really any misunderstandings.

5. What’s the one financial challenge you think agency founders aren’t currently taking seriously enough?

Agency founders are busy people. Awareness of their numbers is key, alongside having a clear process in place for invoices to be sent and paid promptly.

6. What drew you to working in accounting and finance?

My background is in admin support and I have worked alongside many different sectors. I really enjoy working with Aggie and the team, I have been quite surprised at how much of an interest I am developing for the world of finance. I now really enjoy this sector and wish I had discovered it sooner, my work is varied which keeps things interesting.

7. What’s the one thing you’d tell your younger self or anyone wanting to work in this field?

When I was trying to find a career path, I wish I had been able to have more exposure to different industries and sectors so I could understand more about what they do. If I had experienced that I would probably have come across the world of finance sooner.

8. Best piece of financial advice you ever received (from anyone, formal or not)?

One of the best pieces of advice I have been given is to set a monthly budget and stick with it. It sounds boring and the first few times I did it, I did not have much faith in it, but I have come to realise it is quite empowering. I have always been taught to dedicated about 10% of my earnings to savings and that approach has helped me out of a few sticky situations recently.

9. What do your friends and family think you do for a living?

I work remotely and they don’t understand that really. They think I am on my computer quite a lot, which I am, and don’t think I work very hard.

10. Tell us something about that you we may not know about you.

I grew up in Australia and now live in Croatia with my two English Cocker Spaniels. I am a film producer alongside my role at Rocksteady Finance, which is why I live in Croatia. I make a variety of different types of films including comedies, action movies and for some for children.

Thank you for your time Petra it was great to learn more about what you do and the role you play at Rocksteady Finance.  If you are a marketing, creative or PR agency that is ready to take the next step and looking to gain some financial clarity and direction, get in touch to book a no-obligation discovery call!
